We solve a generic model for electron capture from a Fermi sea by a localized state with exponentially decaying tunneling rate and linearly rising energy, relevant for high-precision single-gate quantized charge pumps. We identify the energy scale that controls backtunneling, and study its competition with quantum non-adiabatic excitation due to finite pinch-off time. In the most accurate regime of balanced decay and non-adiabaticity, the trap acts as a single-lead Landau-Zenner-backtunneling interferometer, revealing the dynamical phase accumulated between the electron capture and escape.
