Gilad Rosenblatt, Guy Bartal, Meir OrensteinWe identify the mechanism of perfect imaging in a double-negative slab as the excitation of a nonspectral flat-dispersion eigenmode. This non-symmetrical eigenmode is generated from a non-interacting combination of virtual and confined single-interface modes.
