Spin-dependent electron transport in waveguide with continuous shape    [PDF]

We study effects of the shape of a two-dimensional waveguide on the
spin-dependent electron transport in the presence of spin-orbit coupling. The
transition from classical motion to the tunneling regime can be controlled
there by modulating the strength of spin-orbit coupling if the waveguide has a
constriction. The spin precession strongly depends on the shape of the
waveguide.
